Sphiwe Mahlangu

I am Sphiwe Mahlangu, a third year student Financial Management at Tshwane University in Nelspruit.Academically, I can honestly say that 2025 was much better for me than the previous year. I managed to pass all my modules in both the first and second semester, which is something I am very proud of. This did not happen by chance; I pushed myself much harder than before. I had a clear goal to pass all my modules last year, and I truly did my best to achieve it. Passing all my modules was one of the greatest achievements for me.

One of the most difficult experiences I faced was falling pregnant in June. During that time, studying became very challenging, and it was hard for me to focus. I was scared that I might be dismissed from the YEBO Scholarship programme, so I did not inform the YEBO Foundation immediately. I only shared this information on the 3rd of January during the YEBO student meeting in Schoemansdal. I also only informed my relatives when I saw them during the Christmas period. I offered my sincere apologies toboth parties.

Together with my family members and the YEBO Foundation, I am now working on a plan to handle the situation in the best way possible. Despite everything, I continued praying, studying, and believing in myself. I tried my best to stay focused on the goals I had set for myself.

My goal for this year 2026 – my final year - is to pass all my modules again and to push myself even harder than before.
