Thobani Lubisi
My name is Thobani Lubisi, and I am a former YEBO student. I have been supported by the YEBO Foundation since June 2018. I studied Accountancy at the University of Johannesburg and the organization has played a significant role in shaping my life.
My journey has not always been easy. I lost both of my parents at a young age and was raised by my sister, who was my pillar of strength.
YEBO supported me both financially and emotionally throughout my journey. During challenging times in my studies, I received valuable guidance and wise advice from Nan, which helped me stay focused and motivated.
The organization also supported me while I was completing my teaching qualification. Today, I am a qualified teacher and currently working at a High School in the area where I grew up. I secured my teaching position in April 2024, a moment that marked a positive turning point in my life.
I am proud of how far I have come. I have paid my dues in the YEBO Foundation Fund and I am planning to build my own home.
In terms of work experience, I truly enjoy teaching. Being a teacher has taught me that learning never stops. My specialization subject is Accounting and my performance is good because in 2024 and 2025 I managed to get 100% in Accounting for Grade 12 and I'm looking forward in getting another 100% even in 2026.
