Mthobisi Nkosi
Former YEBO student (2008 – 2012)
Currently employed by the Mpumalanga Department of Education as a teacher (Departmental Head)
Graduation party 2013
During the YEBO graduation party - a much loved YEBO tradition - Mthobisi said in his speech:
“During my studies, there were many tough moments. What kept me going was knowing that, on the other end of the world, there were people who believed in me, stand by me, and whom I don’t want to disappoint. That thought gave me strength when I felt like giving up. I experienced their moral support as something truly special. I would not be standing here today without them.”
Well thanks to YEBO, I am a responsible, independent family man today with a wife and a son. A man who is able to afford basic needs in life and provide for his family.
YEBO taught me to be responsible through the monthly living allowances I learnt to manage my finances which groomed me to be a better somebody professionally and holistically. I am a productive teacher who is performing well in his subject. My performance has always been above 90% as a Life Sciences Grade 12 teacher and that enabled me to be promoted to a senior position (Departmental Head: Life Sciences) in 2021.
My performance has also enabled me to be recognized at circuit and district level. I recently got awarded a certificate and a trophy by the district director for *sharing best practices.
In short, my journey has been amazing!!!...
*Best practices that have been enabling me to perform above 90% consistently. I had to make a presentation sharing my way of teaching with teachers from underperforming school.
