Stichting Yebo originated from the volunteer work of Rogier Nieber, who went to South Africa for 6 months in 1998. In collaboration with SCORE (Sport Coaches OutReach), he gave sports lessons for half a year to teachers of the black schools in Schoemansdal.
His parents visited Rogier and saw up close the difficult circumstances in which the local education was. The inadequate facilities and limited resources made a deep impression on them. Therefore, they decided to commit themselves to improving the quality of education, with the aim of giving the students a better chance at further education and a future with more opportunities.

“Dankzij Stichting YEBO heb ik gezien hoe een positieve impact gemaakt kan worden. Een geweldige organisatie die écht het verschil maakt.”
